NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Jamie Lynn Spears is set to release her memoir this month, despite objections from older sister Britney Spears.
The former child actress has penned her autobiography, Thing I Should Have Said, which will be released later in January.
Jamie Lynn explained on Instagram: ‘My story about MY life from being a child actress, a teen mom, a young woman a single woman, a working mom, battling my mental health, falling in love, finding peace, experiencing a true MIRACLE…
‘Creating my own family, and trying my best to give my children the childhood and family I always wanted. January 18th.’
She had confirmed in October that she’d ‘finally finished’ writing the memoir which had been a long time in the works, adding: ‘Back In 2017, after [daughter] Maddie’s life changing accident, I felt a strong conviction to share my story, but there was a lot of personal work and healing that had to happen before I could share my truth the proper way.’
Maddie had cheated death after accidentally driving into water whilst riding an all-terrain vehicle in 2017, but was rescued by her family who were nearby.
The child, who is now 13, had to be airlifted to hospital after rescuers managed to find a pulse, and her life was able to be saved.
Jamie Lynn continued: ‘I owe it to myself, my younger self, and to my daughters to be an example that you should never edit yourself or your truth to please anyone else.’
As well as Maddie, who Jamie Lynn had when she was 16 with then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge, she also has second daughter Ivey, who was born in 2018 with businessman Jamie Watson.
One person who is not looking forward to Jamie Lynn’s book is Britney, who appeared to take a dig at the memoir after it was announced.

Britney posted in October: ‘Great news … I’m thinking of releasing a book next year,’ adding: ‘But I’m having issues coming up with a title so maybe my fans could help!!!!
‘Option 1, “S**t, I really don’t know”… Option 2… “I really care what people think”!!!!’
